how can i help ?
Having spent years working for different
counselling services, I have experience with a wide
range of presenting mental health difficulties.
I work most frequently with adults with ADHD
(diagnosed or undiagnosed) who are either seeking
specific support around this, or who are wanting to
explore other aspects of life, but would appreciate
knowing that ADHD will be understood and
considered as part of how they process and engage.
Other areas I commonly work with are:
childhood or emotional neglect, low self-esteem,
emotional abuse, stress, depression, spirituality and
relational issues. I also work with those wanting to
explore past experiences and the origins of
struggles or behaviour patterns.
I can also work with common challenges that
frequently co-occur alongside ADHD, such as RSD,
emotional dysregulation, chronic pain, anxiety and
depression, and have further training in CBT for
ADHD.
For those in NT/ADHD relationships, I can bring
significant experience to supporting in this area,
having both a personal and professional
understanding of some of the unique challenges
that may present.
In addition to understanding the biopsychosocial
determinants of mental health, my original
training also considered the spiritual aspects of
the self that may require space and recognition. I
subsequently undertook an additional 2-year diploma
in spiritual exploration & accompaniment, and can
integrate this into the work if desired.
As a person-centred, integrative counsellor I will work in a way specific to you,
accounting for all that is unique about you and your story.
I have a relational and collaborative approach, so will focus on building a safe
and trusting therapeutic relationship with you from the start of our time
together, enabling you to explore your thoughts and feelings more freely and
without judgement and helping you to grow in autonomy, confidence, self-
awareness and compassion for yourself along the way.
Paying close attention to your needs and hopes for therapy, I will respect the
pace at which you process and won’t push you or force you to share things you
aren’t ready to.
This is a safe place for you - what you feel and think matters here.
what to expect
about me
I qualified as a person-centred, integrative
counsellor back in 2019 with a Level 5 Diploma from
Network Counselling & Training Ltd.
-
Following this I completed a Diploma in Spiritual
Accompaniment (any or no faith), an introductory
course in Transactional Analysis (TA101), my Level 1
(of 2) Certificate in Animal Assisted Play Therapy®
with IIAAPT, specific further training in Online &
Telephone counselling, and CBT for ADHD.
-
Most recently I have completed training in Clinical
Supervision, enabling me to provide supervisory
support to counsellors and other professionals, and
am currently training with Cruse Bereavement Care
to become a Bereavement Support Volunteer.
For many years I worked for Bristol Mind as a
Counselling Coordinator & Client Assessor. I then
worked solely in Private Practice, whilst I relocated
from the Bristol area and began training as a
Supervisor.
-
My work tends to centre around supporting clients
who live with ADHD and co-occurring struggles.
I often work with individuals who have faced
relational trauma, abuse, childhood or emotional
neglect, or those struggling with self-esteem and
wanting to explore the roots of behaviours/beliefs
they carry.
-
Alongside my Counselling and Supervision Practice, I
work part-time for a local counselling charity as
their Clinical Admin Manager.
